Fun dining experience with spectacular food and service - still dreaming about the rice dish with beef & uni on top. Seats are well spread out, as are the courses. Roomy restaurant with comfortable seating & friendly servers / front desk. Will be back.

Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Parking is easy in a shared lot with many businesses nearby. Service was excellent . Standout dish was the beef tongue. My only qualm with this restaurant was after a few days of dining here, I noticed the charge on my credit card was more than what I signed for. I called and spoke to the manager Jill and she was able to pull up my receipt and confirm the total amount I signed for was different than what I was ultimately charged. She said it could have been a typo and assured me I would be refunded the difference. I strongly urge other customers to be cautious while dining here and check their charges! I'm surprised I caught it.

Food: a pre-fixe menu to die for, but it isn't cheap ($130/person for the meal only); the food looked & tasted spectacular!!! It was good to compare USDA Prime Beef vs. US Wagyu vs. Japanese Wagyu!!! And I must say Japanese Wagyu is AMAZING!!! Service: great, personal service that felt like our own butler; the hand towel at the start was a great touch; they even gave me a personalized dessert for my birthday Design: interiors is very modern with beautiful detail touches, like the straps on the bench seating to the chrysanthemum flower ceiling light fixtures Overall: This was one of the best all-around meals I've had in a long time. Eventhough the it is pricey, it was well worth every bite both visually and to my taste buds. It almost felt like a DTLA high end dining experience, but right here in Rowland Heights. Definitely a place to go celebrate your birthday or anniversary.

If you're looking for a spot to celebrate a special occasion or just a delicious dinner date , Yakiya is your spot. They have a couple of locations but I believe this one is the original. We were deciding between Yakiya and Ominiku and decided on Yakiya as I heard the seafood at Ominiku isn't that great and it sort of is a bite off of Yakiya... Serves a set course meal comprising of a few small bites (seafood, veggies) with the main courses being high quality marbled beef. ALL the food was very good so I will review some highlights. Super Saiyan Standouts: -raw bite of A5 wagyu and ponzu jelly was a "sent me to gastro heaven" gift to my taste buds. -Chawamushi with snow crab ikura shittake: PERFECT silky texture and robust flavor (subpar places often have grainy lifeless chawamushi) -A5 chuck rib: can't go wrong with the highest quality beef! Surprises: -palette cleanser (yuzu) and tomato salad . The menu was really thought out in terms of the course and progression of the meal. -the whole grain crackers and the house made red miso dip! Holy cow, didn't think I would enjoy this "snack". The miso was perfectly balanced. -The surprise dessert "bite" at the end was fun. Service: -excellent. Our server, Sunny, was delightful! She timed everything well, was friendly, and gave me time to snap up some food pics. -attentative: staff acknowledged our 16yr anniversary :) My only recommendation is to perhaps extend the dining experience a tad form 90min to 100-105min. When you're enjoying some drinks, the time may feel a little rushed. Bottom line: life is short, spend it eating at places like Yakiya! You are getting bang for your buck here!
